 Patty Meyer
is a choral conductor, pianist, flute player and music educator located in
Brattleboro, VT. She earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts with a
focus on piano performance from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME and her
master’s degree in choral music education from Boston University. Here
she had the pleasure of studying under Dr. Ann Howard Jones, protégé of Robert
Shaw. She also took a year of study in choral music education at the
Indiana University School of Music and attended workshops led by Dr. Jerry
Blackstone of the University of Michigan. Patty has directed high school
performing ensembles in Winchester, MA and most recently in Brattleboro, VT for
the past 22 years. She is also the organist and one of 3 choir directors
at the Guilford Community Church in Guilford, VT. She has taught,
directed and performed with the New England Youth Theater for the past 15
years. Patty has performed with and been a member of the Wyndham Orchestra,
The Brattleboro Women’s Chorus, and the Brattleboro Concert Choir as flutist,
alto, and pianist. She lives with her husband and three teenagers in Guilford,
VT and enjoys gardening, hiking, and skiing.
